4th & 5th September - Repairs are scheduled to the rear part of the car park.

August - The Club T-Shirts have arrived - see item below (7-11-17).

17 July - As many of you are aware, the Club has been developing proposals for floodlighting of the courts in winter months.  In March, Ingatestone & Fryerning Community Association (IFCA) made an application for planning permission for floodlighting. At its meeting on 17 July, Brentwood Borough Council’s Planning Committee overwhelmingly rejected the application on the grounds floodlighting would be harmful to the living conditions of residents. We and the IFCA are considering the impact of the decision on the Club’s future development.

8 July - A successful Club Open Day took place.  Several dozen visitors enjoyed coaching, cardio tennis, a BBQ, speed of serve competition, ball machine drills, a raffle and a fun doubles tournament to round off the day.  Photos coming very soon.

22 people tested themseves against the ball machine.  The fastest servers were:  Dave Kinch (88mph) Nick Hilder (87) Shaun McGee (82).  On the female front Jacinta clocked up 58, Krassie 51 and Heather 46.  The top two youngsters were Hayden (61) and Odhran (55).  Full details on the link below.

9 & 13 April -  The expanded Easter Coaching is a great success.  32 kids attended overall.  Good feedback and some potential new members.

28 & 29 March - Drainage works are completed.  It is hoped that we now have a permanent solution to our flooding problems.

7 February 2018 - Tennis Club AGM - review of the year, awards, wine & nibbles.

December 2017 / January 2018 - Moss treatment, court washing & tree pruning works take place.

7 November 2017 - Following a public vote,  we are one of the winners of £500 under Skipton Building Society's "Grassroots Giving Scheme" - we will use the funds to buy tennis shirts for our juniors.  (See photo Gallery Page 17)  Thanks to all who voted!

February 2017: Co-op Community Card Scheme

As some of you may have seen from our Facebook page, the tennis club has signed up to the Co-op card scheme (see details attached), and Charlotte has cards for any of you who would like one. If you shop in any Co-op branch, including Quadrant in Chelmsford, for every pound spent the club gets points which can be cashed for fundraising activities. Co-op even donates 50% on top.  Doesn't cost you anything!

"Hurricane Doris" causes some damage to fencing.  Some remedial repairs were carried out on 25th February, and again on 18th March, with more substantial ones to follow.

Dear Club members and supporters

We have been trying unsuccessfully to find a contractor to lay paving slabs between the Clubhouse and the courts (approx 6m x 3.5m). We would like to get this work done as soon as possible. It’s a fairly straightforward job but will involve removing the grass surface, levelling out and laying the slabs.

Do you know of anyone who has done similar work that might be able to undertake this at a reasonable rate? If so, please let us have their contact details.  Thanks.
